Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Milpitas Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search terms on its own servers. A message sent to the contact address is visible to the operator only to the extent needed to read and answer it.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time stamps. Those logs are reviewed in aggregate for site health and broad usage patterns. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may use cookies or similar tools where they are enabled by the applicable provider.
How Information Is Used
Technical information supports hosting, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page improvements. We do not sell a visitor list or create an individual profile from the small amount of information described here.
External Portals and Tools
Pages link to county and state portals, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools. Once a link is opened, the outside provider's privacy terms govern the information submitted there. The provider of sponsored results controls its own collection and retention practices.
Who May Receive It
Hosting and support vendors may process routine server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above when those services are active. Disclosure also occurs when valid legal process requires it; otherwise, contact information is not shared as a list.
Security and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for as long as the purposes above call for, subject to hosting practice and legal needs. There are no user accounts here, so this service does not hold a password or account profile for you.
Children Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Personal information is not knowingly collected from someone under 18. If a minor has sent information, use the contact route so it can be reviewed and deleted when appropriate.
Your California Privacy Rights
The California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, Civil Code ยง1798.100 et seq., may give covered consumers rights to know, delete, correct, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and opt out of sale or sharing, subject to exceptions. The California Delete Act adds a state mechanism for registered data-broker deletion requests. Because this reference keeps very little, a request normally concerns the contact mailbox or routine logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by California, Santa Clara County, or Milpitas offices are controlled by those custodians and cannot be removed here.
Policy Changes
Revisions will be posted with the policy. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
